I cannot believe that I have been away for soo long. So we left off with the movers ... update well there is none and for the sake of sanity I am walking away from it all. We are I'd say 95 undone in the house some how in one of our moves we lost a pool table leg and are having one recreated so that room is still a mess and pics need to be hung but I kinda want the work in progress as it will keep me busy longer and less apt to change what I have... don't get me wrong I have a list of new things I wanna do to.
School ... well 9 weeks in and kids are doing great all have A's and E's so can't ask for much more. Both Macy and Dale are active in the Alpha program( gifted and talented). Macy did have a few scares getting words in her folder for talking in line and at reading time... we had 4 marks at 3 weeks and 5 drops your conduct grade... I think a huge part was the teacher making a stern example at the start of the year but for the remaining 6 weeks no folder marks so she stayed at an E for conduct... so proud of her and even a few blue days which are like stellar days. I had all 3 teacher conferences and got great reviews. Macys said she is very smart, and social... and likes to be in control... no surprise there, but she is also very helpful with others. Reid is a great helper, and on target for everything, only needs to work on some organization with papers. Was told Dale is a great role model and picked to go read with 1st graders each day to help them... only 3 were chosen. His teacher is finding new ways to challenge him, he tends to finish quickly but its neat and correct so now he does Mensa mind puzzles that she usually does not give as they are too hard but he blew through them all with in a week so now he has DI projects that he researches on his own in spare time and turns them in for extra grades. Not that I want time to pass any faster but to see what these kids turn out like will be amazing.
Sports... well besides occupying all our spare time the kids are loving it. Reid is a pretty big standout on his team... he is so fast and its so fun to watch him chase kids down. He does both offense and defense and his team is on the track for playoffs... I do not see them winning it all but it will be fun. I have been doing the mandatory play count and am on the opposing sideline until kids meet them so I get to hear the other coaches comments about his speed and abilities like a fly on the wall.... soo fun.
Dales team is doing great as well and he has made some great friends on that team too, so I think we picked correctly in team choice. He also is offense and defense and has scored numerous times, on game 3 times and the final one was an interception ... he also in a standout on his team. His big asset is i guess lack of fear and good ability to read the play but he hits and is 100% all in... he only weighs 80 lbs but hits with all 80 of them at full speed so its pretty effective. His team is on the playoff track too and has a chance to take it all. Both boys have impressed us with their passion and heart, playing through pain, and fatigue.... all the while being a good team player helping their teammates.
Macy has been in tumbling and she is doing awesome getting her back handspring... which is huge and special for me as she is following what I did gymnastics was HUGE for me and i could not be prouder of her. Yesterday she was the only one in her class for some reason and she did an hour of flip flops ... the entire practice ... she was worn out after but had the best attitude the whole time.
Duke well his update is the best as his ear thing ended up being a major bacterial infection.. and it is gone. He has sustained some hearing loss because of it but that is a small price to pay when we thought it was much more severe. He is done in the valley on a full time basis and is reunited with us. We joked that after 13 years of marriage we are taking things to the next level and moving in together. He is loving his position here and is super busy... which is good.
Recently Dale and Duke got baptized at church. I was soo proud of them. Both had been baptized before but Duke did it more for me before we got married and this time it was for him, his choice. Sorta the same for Dale, baptized as an infant, so I gave him to God in a sense, but this time he chose it for himself .... kinda like he was realizing my wish for him.
So whats next well this weekend is Halloween and I have Macy going as a she-devil, Reid is a camo-swat/ sniper guy, and Dale is trying to be scary as an evil court jester... only bad part is I think Duke has to be out of town that Monday so that's a boo hiss but hey could be worse.
